Celebrating our 20th anniversary with ELA

For our 20th anniversary, we wanted to give our celebration real meaning with a solidarity action by joining in the festivities for the 20th anniversary of ELA, the European Leukodystrophies Association, which provides support for parents of sick children.

From September to December 2020, we held an online contest, and for each participation donated CHF 20 to ELA.

On 9 October 2020, we also joined in the “Put on your sneakers at work” initiative. Part of the “Put on your sneakers and fight the disease” campaign launched at schools to raise awareness about leukodystrophy and disability, this action involves counting the steps taken by employees of an organisation.

Our goal was to exceed one million steps in a single day.

Our 200 bank employees, equipped with a pedometer, took part in clocking as many steps as possible. Together, we surpassed our target and logged 1,278,305 steps! This sports performance was achieved by combining the steps taken by staff at our headquarters in Geneva and our branches in Zurich, Basel, Fribourg, Lausanne, Yverdon and Geneva.

Following the “Put on your sneakers at work” day and our online contest, we were proud to be able to present a check for CHF 20,000 to ELA.

“CA next bank’s campaign to support our cause through all of its branches and its headquarters was truly exceptional for ELA Switzerland. I was impressed with the motivation and engagement of all employees we met at the bank’s branches. The event’s faultless coordination, along with the Management Committee’s backing, united all the staff around the initiative – and with resounding success. Beyond the financial support, this magnificent show of solidarity is an extraordinary pledge of support for families with a child suffering from leukodystrophy. This incredible day will forever be marked by the amazing people met, touching words, heartfelt encouragement, and countless smiles.”
